Melissa is a Miami native that has had a passion for animals as long as she can remember. Her passion for wildlife started as a young child visiting her family in Venezuela during her summer vacations and getting to freely explore the vast amazon rainforests. She volunteered at her local veterinary clinic and equine shelter in high school and majored in zoology in college and is very active in the wildlife conservation community. At home she has a dog, 5 cats and 9 rescue chinchillas she has taken under her wing. During her free time she likes being out in nature and volunteering at wildlife centers, as well as supporting environmentally conscious and animal friendly cosmetic companies. Her dream is to one day start her own outreach program with exotic animals to teach the importance of wildlife conservation.
